Trump Says 'Largely, Agreement Exists' on Next Stages of Truce Agreement for Gaza

President Trump has remarked that "in general, parties are aligned" on how the next stages of the peace deal in Gaza will unfold, though he acknowledged that "certain specifics … will be finalized."

"They're collecting them now," he stated, mentioning the remaining hostages in the Gaza Strip. "They find themselves in very difficult places."

He, who has been praised by Hamas and various Israeli figures for his role in brokering a ceasefire deal, remarked he thinks the accord will "remain in place" because "they're all exhausted by the hostilities."

At the same time, he intends to bring together global figures for a conference on the Gaza situation during his visit to the North African nation next week. Among those expected to take part are representatives from the European nation, France, the Britain, Italy, the State of Qatar, the Emirates, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

As per sources, PM Netanyahu is not expected to attend.

President's Schedule

The president affirmed that he would engage with a "many leaders" in Cairo on next Monday to discuss the direction of the Gaza Strip. Sources indicate that he will also go to the nation, where he will address the Knesset.

  • An official Stéphane Dujarric informed reporters on last Friday that energy supplies, medicines, and other critical materials have begun moving through the Kerem Shalom border point. • The leader the head of state denounced Israel on the weekend for conducting overnight strikes on civilian facilities that the health ministry said caused one fatality. • Israeli authorities shared a roster of the Palestinian detainees that it plans to let go as under the truce deal reached with the organization. From the 250 detainees, fifteen will be released in East Jerusalem, one hundred to the Palestinian territory, and 135 will be deported. At first, when Hamas officials presented a list of recommended prisoners to be freed to negotiators in Egypt, they called for the freeing of well-known Palestinian political figures such as the figure. Yet, Netanyahu's office stated it will not agree to free Barghouti.
