Fresh particulars have surfaced about the untimely deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Alarm

As detailed in an account referencing a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the house. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

When she went into the residence, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, along with the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held and denied bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant questioned several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Furthermore refuted circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to descriptions of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
