The cultural institution in the heartland Germany's town of this location saw dozens extra patrons than normal over the weekend, as Swifties hoped to view the actual depiction of the artwork that opens the visual for "The Fate of Ophelia".

In the visual piece, which has been watched over 65 million instances on the video platform, the image springs to life, with Swift at its heart.

"We truly appreciate this interest - it's very enjoyable," an institution representative stated.

The spokesperson mentioned that one household had come from the upper German urban center of the northern hub, a five-hour drive from there, while several of the guests were international visitors from a local military installation.

The representative explained that followers learned the historical artwork - believed to be created to 1900 - was present when the institution staff, observing the likeness, put an announcement on their online platform welcoming any Swift fans to attend a special tour.

The information then spread rapidly across social media, the institution confirmed.

Online content explaining the portrait's location earned thousands of positive reactions, much greater than the approximately one hundred of likes that many of its content tend to get.

In Hamlet, the character Ophelia, his wife, a youthful aristocrat from the Scandinavian country, goes mad and dies in water.

While not as famous than John Everett Millais's artwork of this figure, the portrait also shows a female figure in a long dress lying submerged in a body of water, framed by floral elements.

The visual is invoked on the singer's record artwork, which features her partially submerged in liquid.

"We are amazed and pleased that the artist employed this painting from the gallery as inspiration for her music video," a gallery head commented.

"This is, of course, a great possibility to bring in individuals to the gallery who don't know us previously."
