New York Attorney General Charged With Criminal Financial Fraud Charges

A federal grand jury brought charges against the New York attorney general over allegations of financial misconduct this past Thursday, according to someone with knowledge of the case.

The US attorney for the eastern district of Virginia personally presented the case before the judicial panel this Thursday, as reported.

Federal prosecutors rarely address a grand jury.

Halligan was appointed the position the previous month after the president grew impatient over the speed in ongoing probes involving adversaries.

This action is the president’s latest effort to utilize federal justice authorities to target political rivals.

It follows a fortnight following charges were filed against James Comey.

Career prosecutors prepared a memo regarding that situation explaining why indictments lacked merit.

Comey entered a not guilty plea this past Wednesday.
