The first It movie focused on adolescents battling supernatural evils, thus it's suitable that the series upholds that legacy. Premise and Ideas
Taking place in the 1960s, the program presents a new generation of parents and youngsters residing in a outwardly charming locale concealing a sinister core. This place follows a cruel, recurring cycle—defined by violence, bigotry, and the supernatural, as a terrifying being returns every 27 years. Even though Welcome to Derry might appear like it skews too close to the movies initially, what distinguishes the streaming show is its parallel storytelling—unfolding through the perspectives of kids and grown-ups simultaneously. The kids remain especially susceptible to the entity's fear, but grown-ups aren’t spared dealing with their personal demons arising from Derry’s deep-seated bigotry and lurking supernatural forces.
Episode 2 debuts on the 31st of October at 12 a.m. Pacific Time.
