Around twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the region, producing powerful gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Hailstones and Broad Destruction

Locals reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Southern State's Climate Difficulties

Simultaneously, around one thousand households in Victoria also encountered power outages after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.

Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

At the height on the previous day, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Climate Outlook

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.

The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both states.

Safety Concern

Public health experts cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
