History of Assaults
Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military commanders have been attacked within Moscow.
This new event follows other serious incidents, for instance:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a bomb hidden on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a source from Ukraine in the past attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are not officially confirmed as a matter of official stance.
The war has been marked by clandestine operations reaching into the heart of the Russian capital.
The examination into General Sarvarov's death is still active.
